European Union Parliament has approved a bill stating the use of common charging cable for all the portable devices. All the manufacturers of portable devices from 2024 onwards will have to produce USB-C cables to comply with this law.

There were 602 votes in the EU parliament in the favor of this bill while only 13 against this regulation.

UK because of Brexit has not considered this law however it will be applicable for northern Ireland.

This law will cover small and medium size portable devices from hand held devices to laptops and even speakers.

Apple has shown displeasure on such regulation however they haven’t commented on this new law yet.
